1. How do I reset the Finder Admin password ?
2. What is the default "Authority" password ?
Answer:
Default authority password is "authority" (without the quotes), see: doc/3.2.4/WorkingWithFinder/ManagingAccounts
- You can change/reset to default it from within the web-console.
3. How can I get more statistics in "Display source view" ?
Answer:
- The contents of the source view is completely configurable and is based on investigations. You need to have investigations that are configured and activated in order to appear.
- If you want to get the standard ones instead of creating them manually, you can either create a new Finder account (the standard contents is added to new accounts only) or go to the NEXThink Library and import, into your Finder, the element named "Source view template base pack".
4. I have issues accessing the NEXThink Library
Answer:
In Finder version 3.2.1.4, there is a bug tagging binaries from the Library. See advanced/Finder issue when retrieving tags from NEXThink Library.
Proxy setting have to be checked. See this link: advanced/Library Access Error from Finder.

Answer:
- All versions of Win XP/Win 2k doesn't report "anti-spyware" status
- This anti-spyware status only works on Windows Vista

Answer:
- Find the two applications "system" and "svchost.exe" in Finder
- Right click on each of them and select "Edit..." in the context menu
- in the "Storage area" (lower part of the window) select "Connections and Executions"
7. I have an error message "Exception while adding certificate to the Root store"
Answer: The finder communicates to the engine using SSL, then a certificate must be added.
- Go to Question 9 to fix this issue.
8. How to authorize a certificate to be installed on the computer ?
Answer: The finder communicates to the engine using SSL, then a certificate must be added.
- Please make sure the you have the access right to write on the Certificate repository:
- Start / gpedit.msc - Navigate to Computer Configuration, Windows Settings, Security Settings, Trusted Root Certification Authorities. - Right-click Trusted Root Certification Authorities and select Properties. Select Allow users to select new root certification authorities (CAs) to trust check box. Click OK.
After a workstation refreshes Group Policy, it will allow a user to add a CA's certificate to the Trusted Root Certification Authorities store.
9. I have an error message "Client Authentication failed (The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure)."
Answer: The Finder doesn't succeed to access the certificate. You can add the certificate manually:
- Start / Run… / certmgr.msc
- Select in the tree “Trusted Root Certification Authority” / Right-Click / All Tasks / Import …
- “Certificat Import Wizard” will start
- - Click Next
- In the "File To Import Wizard",
- - Click on the Browse button ...(a new dialog "open" should start)
- In the "Open" dialog,
- - Select the drop-down Files of type : "All Files (*.*)" and select the Finder.exe file (normally located in C:\Program Files\NEXThink Finder\nxfinder.exe)
- Click "Next"
- int the "Place all certificates in the following store" dialog,
- - Click on the Browse button ...(a new dialog "open" should start) - Tick "Show physical store" - and select the tree "Trusted Root Certificate Authority/ Local computer"
- "Next" and "Finish".
- You should notice a message "The import was successful".
- - A message invite you to install this certificate, Click "Yes"

10. What's the value S.M.A.R.T. value?
This acronym S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) allows to know the health of the hard drive.
The high percentage means your hard drive is in a good health and have no problems reported.
11. What's the different type of document reported for the printer job?
Answer: We are using the document extension and document title to report this kind of information

12. Does Finder support application virtualization such as Microsoft App-V or Citrix XenApp?
Currently, the use of application virtualization solutions such as Microsoft App-V or Citrix XenApp is not tested nor officially supported on Finder.
NEXThink is aware of the fact that in some cases, such application virtualization solutions have been proven to work with Finder.
