1. NEXThink V3 Requirements

NEXThink V3 is a very easy-to-install and configuration solution. No external logs or data are necessary to start working with the solution. The basic requirements are:

• A dedicated hardware appliance to host NEXThink Engine and Portal. NEXThink provides a bootable CD supporting most of the current hardware platforms in the market. To run NEXThink V3 for thousands of users you usually need inexpensive and standard hardware.

• You need to install NEXThink Collector driver on workstations. This deployment is done through your classical Software Deployment Tools. A very detailed documentation is provided by NEXThink here: advanced/UnderstandingCollector. The deployment is transparent for end-users, no machine reboot is needed and it requires null configuration after installation.

Before proceeding, make sure to download a copy of V3 deployment checklist document and collect all required information.

1. Complete and submit the NEXThink V3 Deployment Checklist to NEXThink’s Service or Certified Service Partner.

2. Make sure that the NEXThink Engine’s required hardware is available without any pre-installed software.
3. Review NEXThink V3.2 releases notes for compatibility between the NEXThink V3.2 software elements (Collector, Engine, Finder, and Portal).
